Software Engineer, Frontend
Location: London (GB) or Remote
Our mission is to empower more people around the world to grow their passion, project or idea into a business.
We will do this by creating an ecosystem of tools and resources that automates marketing, provides funding and increases knowledge.
Feed is the first step we're taking towards achieving our mission: it is an advertising tool that automates an entire marketing funnel for small budgets - discovering new audiences, keeping people engaged and ultimately growing revenue.
The platform is currently in closed beta, and the first ad network we have integrated is Facebook and Instagram. Feed achieves 3–10x the results of our users' other ads on a like-for-like basis, depending on the metric.
To date we have raised pre-seed and seed investment, including a crowdfunding that was more than 300% oversubscribed. We have also partnered with The Rattle, the 'passion economy' equivalent of yCombinator, to help us embark on our growth phase.
Joshua and Nick are the founders of Feed. Joshua is a digital marketing expert, designer and developer and, before Feed, he headed up digital and ran campaigns at influential record labels including Transgressive and Warp. Nick is an ex-investor, economist and musician and before Feed he was an investment professional at Warwick Capital and Bluebay. He holds a double first class MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge.
This is an opportunity to join a start-up as one of its earliest core employees and play a crucial part in shaping its future. Working within a small engineering team, and closely with the founders, you will be part of the whole development cycle from design, through implementation and testing.
In addition to building out new features, you will look to replace unsuitable frameworks and technologies (or incorporate new ones) in order to improve frontend architecture, and build out an automated testing suite.
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about the product and is looking for an opportunity that puts them right at the centre of product and company decision-making.
Your skills and experience
We don’t expect that you meet all the criteria listed, but would love for you to have experience in the majority of these areas:
- Good working knowledge of React.js and its best practices (we use Next.js)
- Proficiency with CSS (we use Tailwind and PostCSS)
- UI/UX and design sensibilities
- Interfacing with REST APIs
- Working with OAuth
- Writing automated tests for user interfaces, including unit, integration and end to end tests
- Interacting with customers directly to understand their needs and how to address them
- Stripe and Facebook APIs experience
As a plus:
- Backend technologies like Node.js
We’re not looking for any particular qualifications but we would expect you have at least 3 years of experience building web-apps or similar. We would also expect you to be able to share examples of code and working websites.
We are looking for someone who is excited by our mission & the opportunity and has potential to grow into a core member of the team as the company grows.
Salary Dependent on experience.
Equity Options to be discussed after a trial period.
Location We are a remote team though most of us are based in London so ideally we are looking for someone based within +/- 3h of UTC.
